The program committee invites contributions in the form of individual papers and entire sessions (three to five paper sessions). Papers can be on any applied or theoretical topic within economics.

Conference tracks: Track A: Role of Institutions & National Context; Track B: Role of Governance and Networks; Track C: Sources of Economic Value in Alliances and Acquisitions; Track D: Role of Intra-firm Routines, People and Structures; Track E: Technology and Innovation Strategies.

Authors may only present one paper in each track (LACEA and/or LAMES), but the same paper cannot be submitted to both tracks. However, each person is allowed to be co-author of several papers presented. Papers can only be submitted electronically.

The theme for the 2017 SMS Annual Conference, “Unconventional Strategies for Emerging Complexity and Intensifying Diversity,” embraces these challenges and the types of unconventional (i.e., unusual, avant-garde, exceptional, against-the-grain) strategies that might be used to address them.
