A Selection Framework for SaaS-Based Enterprise Resource Planning Applications

Cloud Computing off ers a deployment model for software applications in the form of Software as a Service (SaaS). SaaS based solutions include a broad spectrum of software applications that vary from simple word processing solutions to complex solutions such as ERP. While adoption of SaaS-based ERP (SERP) has increased, research on SERP is scant. In this paper, we take a closer look at SERP and in particular, on the selection aspect of such applications. We adopt a two-stage approach and provide a SERP selection frame-work with a comprehensive set of factors for SERP by integrating the characteristics of both the underlying SaaS and the ERP application
