Agrarbanken: Ignorieren, schließen oder reformieren?
Die Anfänge der öffentlichen Agrarbanken in Entwicklungsländern reichen ins 19. Jahrhundert zurück. Die syrische und die jordanische Agrarbank beispielsweise gehen auf die ottomanische Bank of Myra in Damaskus aus dem Jahre 1888 zurück; die indonesische Bank Rakyat Indonesia nahm ihren Anfang 1895 in Purwokerto. Fast alle verbliebenen Agrarbanken haben eine krisenhafte Geschichte von Fusionen und Neugründungen hinter sich.
