Aménagement et protection de la forêt méditerranéenne : application de la méthode des programmes en Corse
A l'instar d'autres forêts méditerranéennes, la forêt corse est associée à la transhumance et au pastoralisme, deux activités qui ont beaucoup décliné. Les ventes de bois sont trop faibles pour compenser les dépenses de gestion, et les perspectives de développement de production marchande (cueillette de baies, champignons, plantes aromatiques) ou de la chasse sont restreintes. La justification sociale des dépenses publiques en faveur de la forêt corse doit donc être recherchée dans les services non-marchands liés aux loisirs et à la protection de l'environnement. Mais peut-on concilier la protection de la forêt et l'accueil du public ? Peut-on proposer des aménagements qui respectent la biodiversité ? Peut-on faire face à la pression touristique tout en préservant les équilibres naturels ? Doit-on accueillir tout le monde ou limiter l'accès ? Questions difficiles auxquelles sont confrontés les élus, les pouvoirs publics et les citoyens. Les travaux réalisés à Bonifatu apportent des données factuelles et des éléments de réflexion pour définir une stratégie de développement durable en zone de montagne méditerranéenne.
