ARE THERE COMMUNITIES OF WELFARE RECIPIENTS? LOOKING FOR RURAL URBAN DIFFERENCES IN THE DURATION ON AFDC
This paper reports the results of regressions on the probability of exiting AFDC based on an administrative data set of Minnesota families. The results find significant differences between recipients in urban, rural farming-dependent and other rural counties. These differences remain even after accounting for the demographic composition of the counties.
