Cross-Border Cooperation : Models of Good Practice in Carpathian Region

The interdisciplinary approach of Cross-Border Cooperation (from the legal norm of impact in the space frontier to the theoretical paradigms and concrete models offered by European or sociology studies on the organization and management of public or private bodies operating in border regions) gives us a picture of what the Carpathian Region is today, and what the European Cross-Border Region means in general terms.Without claiming to provide miraculous solutions, the authors of the studies in this volume bring in front of you some of the researches they have undertaken in their attempted radiography (generally or by analysing individual items) of cross-border cooperation as it is in the EU Member States. The proposals that are presented in the scientific analyses are meant to stir the interest of public authorities and/or private bodies acting in the field of cross-border or, why not, to attract constructive controversy in the academic research.The lack of information on cross-border cooperation, cross-border labour market, worker, cross-border cooperation body, Euro-region, Carpathian Region etc. may hopefully be corrected, albeit partially, by this volume. It is our hope that the solutions proposed by the authors, or emerging from these analyses will contribute to strengthening the EU integrator process and to fully achieve an old goal of the European Union: "The Union shall establish an internal market. It shall work for the sustainable development of Europe based on balanced economic growth and price stability, a highly competitive social market economy, aiming at full employment and social progress, and a high level of protection and improvement of the quality of the environment"
