Des paroles aux actes : usages contemporains de la performativité dans le champ financier

The issue concerning performativity has been under debate in the field of social studies of finance in the past few years. Until recently, the trend has consisted in transforming the original concept of Austin from its linguistic base into a concept, which takes into account the critiques of Bourdieu. Assuming this, should we consider the question that a linguistic approach is not suitable for the studies of markets ? We postulate that not, that there is still a place for an Austinian analysis of financial markets, with regard to the relationship between performativity and normativity.
