Deux enfants par femme dans la France de 2010 : la fécondité serait-elle insensible à la crise économique ?
En France, l'indicateur de fécondité a continué à augmenter en 2010 (2,00 enfants par femme contre 1,99 en 2009), alors qu'il diminue généralement à la suite de ralentissements économiques. La dernière récession est survenue lors d'une période où la fécondité était en hausse dans la majorité des pays occidentaux. La récession a inversé le mouvement et provoqué sa baisse comme on a pu l'observer aux États-Unis, ou a freiné sa hausse comme en Russie. La France est probablement dans ce dernier cas : sans la crise, l'indicateur de fécondité aurait sans doute augmenté encore plus et dépassé deux enfants par femme en métropole.
