EL CAMBIO DEMOGRÁFICO ESPAÑOL Y SUS IMPLICACIONES MACROECONÓMICAS
A lo largo de la última década, en España la demografía ha impulsado nuestra economía, favoreciéndola: nuestro país se ha beneficiado de la inmigración extranjera y la menor dependencia de la población nacional joven. Los ciclos demográficos y los económicos presentan ritmos diferentes. Hoy han coincidido los efectos más negativos de ambos. Comúnmente la demografía es entendida como una variable dependiente, de la economía, pero al hacer tan dependiente a una de otra, nuestro futuro, el que viviremos en las próximas décadas, puede ser calificado de incierto. En España la sanidad y la atención a la dependencia son dos de los sectores que estarán más relacionados con este asunto, y en los próximos años recibirán el impacto de estas variables. Del apartado anterior se desprende que el objetivo de este ensayo es tratar de analizar una serie de decisiones políticas. Estas dependen en gran medida de la capacidad económica de los estados, pero también del propio comportamiento político de sus ciudadanos. En las sociedades ricas europeas, las políticas de jubilación en función de la edad, son hoy un instrumento de planificación en manos del poder económico y político. Este ensayo trata de identificar estos efectos a medio plazo en base a componentes muy rígidos, como son los demográficos.
