Estudo das principais características que distinguem as empresas exportadoras e não exportadoras
A exportação constitui o principal tipo de envolvimento internacional das empresas portuguesas. Neste artigo é apresentado um estudo empírico, levado a cabo no principal sector exportador industrial português, o sector têxtil. A investigação tem por objectivo principal, identificar as características que possam servir para distinguir entre as empresas exportadoras e as não exportadoras. Através de uma revisão bibliográfica, foram identificadas as características que potencialmente poderiam servir para distinguir entre aquelas empresas. Os resultados obtidos, com base numa amostra de empresas e utilizando a técnica estatística de análise discriminante, sugerem que algumas características da empresa e do empresário são úteis para distinguir as empresas exportadoras das não exportadoras. Os resultados são úteis porque providenciam alguma orientação para as políticas públicas, para a administração das empresas e para futuras investigações.
