Hubungan Harga Diri dengan Kemampuan Aktualisasi Diri Remaja Putri dengan Obesitas di SMA Negeri 1 Sei Bingai
Girls with obesity tend to have low-self esteem than who have the ideal body so their ability to self-actualization also tend to be low and limited impaction socializing with other people and achievers. This study aims to identify the correlation of self esteem and ability to self-actualization for obesity girls at SMA Negeri 1 Sei Bingai. The research design was a descriptive correlation. Sampling of research using total sampling. Sample as many as 35 people. The research was conducted in April 2001. The data was collected using a demographic data questionnaire, self-esteem questionnaire, and self-actualization ability questionnaire of obesity girls in SMA Negeri 1 Sei Bingai. Then the processed data obtain by using descriptive analysis of correlation to determine the frequency and percentage distributions and correlation analysis to find the relationship of self-esteem and ability self-actualization. The result showed that the lower self-esteem of obesity girls, the lower their ability to self actualization and obtain that p values 0,00 (p > 0,05) and correlation (r) = + 0,646. The result of research as the basis to carry out further research related to self-esteem and ability to self-actualization of obesity girls in another senior high school and refine the instruments for the characteristics of self-esteem.
