Impact of the Rural Sector Crisis on the Urban and National Labor Market : An Auto-Regressive Vector Analysis

This article evaluates the impact of the employment and unemployment crisis in the rural sector on the urban and national labor market. The analysis disaggregates urban space between large cities and small municipal centers, and examines the structure, participation, and evolution of the labor variables that characterize each of the territorial and economic spaces, establishing its real weight in the country's labor market. The relationships that are found are subjected to an auto-regressive vector analysis, empirically proving the hypothesis that fluctuations in rural employment and unemployment affect the level of unemployment in the different territorial spaces
