Le marché du travail en Europe
[eng] Labour Markets in Europe Are European labour markets converging? A number of long-run national labour market trends are very similar: high levels of unemployment since the first oil schock; a steady increase of the number of women and white collar-workers engaged in the labour force; a steady decrease of the unionization rate; etc. However, labour mobility between European countries is still very low and is unlikely to increase. In the future, the integration of European goods and capital markets, combined with the segmentation of national labour markets, could lead to a concentration of unemployment in the weakest regions. Specific action will be needed to overcome regional disequilibrium.
