Light scattering from a suspension in a fluid with spin
The dynamic structure factor of a suspension moving through a fluid with spin (suspension of dipolar particles in the continuum limit) is computed. Two situations are treated, namely when the system is in equilibrium and when a velocity gradient is present. In the first case we get a correction to the Lorentzian spectrum, which is proportional to the volume fraction of the dipolar particles and depends on the relavive direction of propagation of the incident and scattered light. In the second case the velocity gradient introduces isotropic corrections which may be of the same order than those due to the dipolar particles.
