On the Concept of "Market Socialism"
In recent years, economists in socialist countries have been giving serious attention to the problem of making more complete use of the economic advantages of socialism and of increasing the effectiveness of socialist production. Naturally, in the process, certain outmoded theoretical principles or practical recommendations that have not proven themselves are subjected to criticism. This kind of criticism is useful insofar as it is made from Marxist-Leninist positions and assists in the constructive elaboration of problems pertaining to the economic theory of socialism and the practice of socialist and communist construction. This objectively necessary work has played no small part in the improvement of socialist management and in the disclosure and effective utilization of reserves for increasing the effectiveness of socialist production.
