Preparation of Clorprenaline Certified Reference Material : Purity Determination and Uncertainty Evaluation
A novel purity certified reference material (CRM) of clorprenaline (GBW 09255) was first development using the mass balance method, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and quantitative nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (QNMR). The candidate sample preparation, homogeneity test, long-term and short-term stability studies, characterization and uncertainty evaluation were investigated in this study. For characterization of the CRM, the main parameters affecting the accuracy of the measurement method were systematically explored. Under the optimum conditions, the certified value of clorprenaline is 99.6% with an extended uncertainty of 0.4% (k=2). The developed CRM was sufficiently homogeneous between and within bottles and stable for at least one year at -18 °C and 9 days at 60 °C. The uncertainty was evaluated by combing the contributions from characterization, homogeneity and stability. The developed clorprenaline CRM would be effectively support for the method validation, proficiency testing, nationwide quality and safety monitoring and the traceability of measurement results in livestock samples
