Problems of Structural Changes in Soviet Industry
The Communist Party of the Soviet Union, guided by the demands of the economic laws of socialism, is constantly working to accelerate the development of industry and improve its structure. It was pointed out in the Draft Program of the CPSU that "intensive development of industry will call for major progressive changes in its structure. The role of new branches ensuring the greatest technical progress will grow very considerably. The less effective fuels, types of power, raw and semi-manufactured materials will be increasingly superseded by highly effective ones, and their comprehensive use will increase greatly. The share of synthetic materials, metals and alloys with new properties will increase considerably. New types of automatic and electronic machinery, instruments and apparatuses will be rapidly introduced on a large scale."
