Quantum computing using nanowires and nanotubes
The formalism of influence functionals introduced by Feynman and Vernon (Ann. Phys. 281 (2000) 547) for open systems was applied to design a quantum computing system using nanowires or nanotubes. The formalism was extended to include the interaction of an electronic current confined within such nanostructures, under the influence of a Gaussian-type optical field. Based on this model, we illustrate how quantum Not or quantum Control Not logical gates can be implemented in such nanostructures.
