Segurança Alimentar como um Caminho para a Inclusão Produtiva: Lições do Brasil e da Índia
Embora o Brasil e a Índia tenham estruturas agrárias e classificações específicas de agricultores muito diferentes (ver quadro), em ambos os países, a proporção dos grupos rurais geralmente desfavorecidos?especialmente produtores de menor escala?dentro da população total é expressiva. Os dois países instituíram programas de aquisição de alimentos em larga escala, através dos quais o governo compra os produtos agrícolas que dão aos agricultores sua subsistência, oferecendo alternativas de mercado vantajosas. Estas iniciativas conciliam oportunidades comerciais para os produtores com o fornecimento de alimentos às populações vulneráveis. (?)
