Sistemas de producción y recuperación de microcuencas andinas en Colombia
En cuatro microcuencas de la Cordillera de los Andes, estratégicas como abastecedoras de agua a centros urbanos y en las cuales predomina la producción campesina, se analizaron, de un lado, los sistemas de producción vigentes, con énfasis en los costos de producción y los ingresos (o beneficios). De otra parte, se identificaron los cambios potenciales para amortiguar sus externalidades hídricas negativas. Se cuantificó (mediante un flujo a 20 años), en el nuevo escenario, los costos en que incurrían los productores para efectuar los cambios propuestos. Se hace un análisis, biofísico y de costo -beneficio que concluye que los sistemas de producción de los campesinos asentados en cuencas andinas tienen altas potencialidades de ajustarse continuando con sus líneas de producción actuales y corrigiendo sustancialmente su impacto ambiental.
