Synthesis of Polyaniline Wrapped Ternary Hybrid Nanocomposite of Graphene Oxide/Polyaniline/Copper Ferrite (Go/Pani/Cufe2o4) and its Use in the Fabrication of Energy Storage Devices
The fabrication of conducting composite electrode material plays a key role in the supercapacitor material application. We have synthesized a novel ternary composite GO/PANI/CuFe 2 O 4 by the oxidative-polymerization technique with enhanced electrochemical performance. The analysis like XRD (X-ray diffraction), FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), HR-SEM (High resolution scanning electron microscopy), and EDS (Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) confirm the successful synthesis of material. The ternary supercapacitor electrode material GO/PANI/CuFe 2 O 4 consists of graphene oxide (GO) which acts as a substrate, polyaniline (PANI) polymer, and a binary metal oxide (CuFe 2 O 4 ) that provides a more conducting nature. The ternary composite GO/PANI/CuFe 2 O 4 gives the highest value of specific capacitance of 790.12 F/g and 357.28 F/g at 1 mV/s and 1 A/g using a three-electrode system and symmetric two-electrode device. The system exhibits a wide potential window of 1.2 V. From the symmetric system, the ternary GO/PANI/CuFe 2 O 4 had high specific energy of 71.45 Wh/kg at 1 A/g current density and specific power of 5983.90 W/kg at 20 A/g with 78.77% specific capacitance retention after 5000 cycles. The ternary system exhibited the least charge transfer resistance (R ct ) value of 8.72 Ω. The synergistic effect between the individual components is the primary key for its outstanding electrochemical performance.
