The Index Method of Linear Programming and Some Problems in Organizing Farm Production
The sweeping tasks of communist construction in the USSR have made exceptionally great demands of those organizing production not only on a nationwide scale but also at each individual enterprise. The fullest and most efficient use of all its means of production and labor power and attaining maximum output with minimum outlays must become the rule in running every establishment. To achieve this goal, calculation practices in economic planning must be radically improved. This can be done by introducing calculation methods that would take strict account of objective data, the demands made of production, and would permit us to find the exact and best (optimum) solution of the economic problem which is being posed. It is quite evident that such methods can be based only on the application of flexible mathematical tools.
