The Name 'Tsar-Father' in the Russian Language at the Beginning of the 20th Century ('Царь-батюшка' в русском языке начала XX века)

English Abstract: The article considers the specifics of the functioning of the name tsar-father in the Russian language at the beginning of the 20th century. The study has been carried out with the use of the following sources: texts of the documents of political parties, fiction, periodicals, and state authorities' documents. The author used the following main research methods: descriptive and comparative methods including the techniques of componential analysis, contextual analysis and the analysis of dictionary definitions. The study has shown that the name tsar-father was not used frequently in the Russian language of the pre-revolutionary period; it was characterized by a weak inter-component connection, had a bright original and contextually determined semantics, and could perform nominative, axiological and pragmatic functions.Russian Abstract: В статье рассмотрены особенности функционирования наименования царь-батюшка в русском языке начала XX века. В качестве источниковой базы использованы тексты документов политических партий, произведений художе-ственной литературы, периодических изданий, документов органов государст-венной власти. Ведущими методами в исследовании являлись: описательный и сравнительно-сопоставительный методы, включающие в себя приёмы компо-нентного, контекстуального анализа, а также анализа словарных дефиниций. Проведённый анализ показал, что данное наименование было невостребован-ным в русском языке дореволюционного периода, характеризовалось низкой межкомпонентной связью, обладало яркой исконной и контекстуально обу-словленной семантикой, могло выполнять номинативную, аксиологическую и прагматическую функции
