Verfestigte institutionelle Vielfalt? : Die komparativen Vorteile koordinierter Ökonomien und die Internationalisierung von Unternehmen
Das Ziel des Forschungsprojektes war die bewertende Prüfung der Hypothese verschiedener Vertreterdes Varieties-of-Capitalism-Ansatzes, wonach sich institutionell differente marktwirtschaftliche Systemeunter Bedingungen einer zunehmenden Internationalisierung »pfadabhängig« verfestigen sollten. DieAnalysen wurden auf zwei Ebenen durchgeführt. Zum einen wurde auf Unternehmensebene untersucht,welche organisatorischen Veränderungen sich im Kreis der deutschen Großunternehmen ergeben haben.Im Fokus der Betrachtung stand hierbei, ob die Unternehmen im nationalen Kontext an ihren bisherigenStrategien festgehalten haben und inwieweit sich ihre Internationalisierungsschritte mit »institutionellerArbitrage« erklären lassen. Zum anderen wurde auf Grundlage von Aggregatdaten in einem Ländervergleichanalysiert, ob sich zunehmende Spezialisierungen in Richtung bestehender Wettbewerbspositionennachweisen lassen. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wurde auf die Differenz zwischen liberalen undkoordinierten Ökonomien gelegt. Aufgrund der durchgeführten Analysen muss bezweifelt werden, dassder jüngste Wandel marktwirtschaftlicher Systeme auf der Verfestigung bestehender Unterschiede beruht.Hieraus ist zu folgern, dass Erklärungsansätze jenseits von Pfadabhängigkeit und komparativerVorteilsnahme zu entwickeln sind, welche die Dynamik des institutionellen Wandels angemessener beschreibenkönnen.Die Förderung der DFG hatte die Finanzierung der eigenen Stelle des Antragsstellers möglich gemacht.Nicht zuletzt durch die Anerkennung der in diesem Projekt durchgeführten Forschungen erhielt der Antragstellereine Lehrstuhlvertretung an der Universität Leipzig und schließlich den Ruf an die UniversitätHamburg (W3-Professur für Wirtschafts- und Organisationssoziologie).
