Criticality and supradiffusion in biological membranes: The effect of transverse multiplicative fluctuations
Rodríguez, R.F.; Salinas-Rodríguez, E.; Maldonado, A.; … - In: Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications 390 (2011) 6, pp. 1198-1208
We suggest that the cytoskeleton in contact with the inner surface of biological membranes in cells exhibiting tensegrity, may be considered as a system near critical conditions. This feature will influence the dynamical processes, such as diffusion, associated with the membrane’s fluctuations...

Novel conformations of isolated semiflexible block copolymers
Hernández-Zapata, E.; Cooke, I.R.; Williams, D.R.M. - In: Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications 339 (2004) 1, pp. 40-44
We investigate the conformations of single regularly-repeating block copolymer chains with rigidity in a poor solvent. We predict the existence of two novel conformations—the stripey torus and the figure eight, and examine the stability of these theoretically.
