The paper presents an evaluation of the effects generated by the Common Agricultural Policy adoption in the eight Central and East-European countries that joined the European Union in the year 2004.

The agricultural policy is one of the most complex integrationist economic policies of the European Union, with implications not only upon the agricultural and food processing sector, but also upon the welfare of the whole society.
