For the problem of homogeneity of variances, a new generalized test variable is given and the generalized p-value based on the test variable is derived. The proposed generalized p-value is proved to have exact frequency property, and it is also invariant under the group of scale transformation.

China has been experiencing urbanization at an unprecedented rate over the last two decades. This study analyzes the impact of urbanization on land occupation. Cities are clustered by their functions and development stages, which is illustrated by a cluster tree, a dynamic tree that depicts the...

In the paper we provide a fiducial method to obtain interval estimation for functions of parameters on restricted parameter space. The examples show that the fiducial procedure is simple and the resulted interval estimation is reasonable. Furthermore, we prove that the conditional fiducial...

In this paper, we propose several new goodness-of-fit tests for normality based on the distance between the observed sample and the predictive sample drawn from the posterior predictive distribution. Note that the predictive sample is stochastic for a set of given sample observations, the...

We consider one-sided hypothesis testing for Fieller’s problem. The one-sided posterior predictive p-value is proposed by taking the generalized p-value as the test statistic. Simulations show that the proposed p-value performs better than the generalized p-value in the frequentist performance.

Unlike in other countries, negotiated block shares have huge discounts in China. We argue that trading restrictions help to explain this puzzle. Block shares in China face trading restrictions in the open market and can only be traded in the form of block transfers at negotiated prices. Using a...
