Überschätzen sich jüngere Personen mehr als ältere? Der Dunning-Kruger-Effekt im Altersvergleich
Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird der Dunning-Kruger-Effekt, ergänzend zur Originalstudie von Dunning und Kruger, in verschiedenen Altersstufen untersucht. Ziel der Studie ist es, herauszufinden, ob der Dunning-Kruger-Effekt altersabhängig unterschiedlich stark auftritt. Anhand von qualitativen Interviews und einer quantitativen Onlineumfrage konnte der Effekt in allen Altersstufen zwischen 12 und 73 Jahren nachgewiesen werden. Es konnten jedoch keine signifikanten Unterschiede zwischen den Altersgruppen beobachtet werden. Die Untersuchung zeigt zusätzlich auf, dass der Effekt auch im Kompetenzbereich Fremdsprachen auftritt. Außerdem ist eine Tendenz zu erkennen, dass Männer mehr zur Selbstüberschätzung neigen als Frauen. Es werden zudem zukünftige Forschungsfelder identifiziert, wie beispielsweise die kulturabhängigen Unterschiede des Dunning-Kruger-Effekt in einer internationalen Arbeitswelt.
