A case study
While many larger organizations have been implementing just‐in‐time (JIT) for the past decade or more, smaller organizations have been somewhat slower to adopt these ideas even though the relative pay‐offs for them can be at least as large. Examines the the progressive implementation of JIT at a small New Zealand knitwear manufacturer. This occurred over a period of three years and is described as three phases. Highlights some of the achievements, and shows how these will be limited unless the organization invests in its people processes, as well as its production processes.
