A comparative analysis of reforms in China and the Soviet Union
In comparing the conditions in which reconstructing is being carried out in China and the USSR, the author finds some similarities and differences. He notes that the USSR's level of economic development is higher than that of China and suggests that China should give more attention to the development of productive forces. The author points out that while the USSR's current reform is based on the results of limited reforms of the 1950s and the 1960s, China started practically from scratch in the 1978, having inherited the consequences of the Cultural Revolution.
