A Comparison of Strategic Involvement of Training Professionals Employed in Small, Medium and Large Firms

Based theoretically on the resource-based view of the firm, the current study compares strategic involvement of training professionals employed in small, medium, and large firms. The ANOVA analysis of data obtained from an online survey of training professionals employed by firms across three different industries (manufacturing, service, and retailing) reveals that there is not a statistically significant difference in the involvement of training professionals in their firms’ Porter’s generic business strategies. However, the result from the ANOVA analysis shows a statistically significant difference in the involvement of training professionals in their respective firms’ growth strategies (Ansoff’s strategies). The Post Hoc tests were also performed to determine the differences in strategic involvement among the three groups of training professionals
