A Discussion on the Role of Gold in International Economic Relations
The clarification of the role of gold in international currency relations is of theoretical and practical significance for the development of the foreign economic relations of the USSR and other socialist countries with the capitalist world. In view of this fact, in June 1977 the Department of International Currency and Credit Relations of the Moscow Finance Institute held a discussion of the role of gold. The discussion centered on papers presented by L. Krasavina, doctor of economic sciences, department head ("The Role of Gold in the International Currency Relations of Modern Capitalism"), and by V. Gerashchenko, doctor of economic sciences ("The Role of Gold in the International Transactions of Socialist Countries").
