A mixed planar spin glass
We consider a mixed spin-glass model defined in terms of two groups of spins, XY and p-state clock variables, respectively; the interactions are infinite-range-like and between distinct groups only. An anisotropy parameter Dp, which favours p directions in the plane, is introduced for the XY variables, such that one can interpolate between the XY (Dp = 0; p → ∞) and p-state clock (Dp → ∞) models. We implement Parisi's replica-symmetry-breaking Ansatz and analyse the different types of order-parameter functions. An special attention is dedicated to the case p = 3, for which an interesting crossover is observed.
