A Possible Solution for the New Economic Challenges

This popularization article aims to present the specificity of the new economic environment and, in the same time, to offer a possible solution for the new challenges. It focuses on the concept of early warning system which is a strategic instrument that depends on two major elements: analysis and forecasting. None of them is new, but the perspective from which are approached differs from the traditional one. In a turbulent time – like the present one –, the analysis should not only focus on the “strong signals” which are the most visible and may be observed by anyone but rather should be oriented towards the “weak signals” which are more discreet and harder to capture. But if they are so discrete, how can we identify them? In other words, which elements should be included in an early warning system so that it becomes a possible strategically solution for the challenges brought by the new economic environment?
