A Research on Leisure and Methods for Its Productivity

Leisure as a cultural, social phenomenon, which is also effective in the economic, political aspects, is a common thread among all strata of society. The purpose of this survey study: 1. To determine the amount of leisure time of teachers in Mashhad; 2. To evaluate the type activities and the teachers' use of their leisure time to: (a) increase the knowledge and skills of job (b) sports and recreational activities (c) Economic activities; 3. To determine the factors affecting the rate of and leisure time activity; and 4. To determine the necessary measures for optimal utilization of leisure time of teachers, that each of them is examined by gender and level of education. In this study population of (17001 = N), and the number of (376 = S) the teachers, of Haft Gane area of Mashhad, were analyzed using Morgan and statistical data with software "SPSS". The average daily leisure time of teachers is "3/4 hour", the average daily leisure time that teachers use to: increase knowledge and skills in their work is "1/9 hour", exercise and leisure "2/3 hour", activities economic "3/2 hour". The most important factors influencing leisure and incentives are provision of mental health with 43/3% and physical health care with 23/1% in the second and sixth priorities. One of the most necessary measures for optimal efficiency of leisure time of teachers, providing special training centers for teachers with 4/19% in the seventh priority was the first need after livelihood needs
