A Study of Social Networking Usage Habits of School Children

The availability of high speed internet services and smart phones in India has made it very easy for people to access information online and use different features of internet handily. Along with youth of the country, the elderly and the young have also been targeted by many advertisements of telecom companies offering internet services. The smart phone advertisements also involve all age group people. Hence, it is quite probable that the services of social networking are also used by all. This research is conducted keeping in focus the social networking services (SNS) and their usage by school children. In this paper, the researcher has tried to find out usage habits of school children with respect to usage of SNS. An attempt has been made to see if there is any change in level of exposure to SNS and usage habits for children of different age groups. Descriptive research design has been adopted.
