Administrative Law

This paper is a chapter of the book 'Introduction to Law' (edited by Jaap Hage and Bram Akkermans) which is used for the first-year course 'Introduction to Law' offered by Maastricht University during the Bachelor European Law School - English Language Track. The chapter 'Administrative Law' examines the main historical developments of administrative law, as well as the basic concepts of administrative law, such as administrative discretion. It also discusses the rationale and use of the general principles of administrative law and the main features of the systems of administrative justice
