Aligned : Sex Workers’ Lessons for the Gig Economy
This article centers the fight for sex workers' rights in responding to questions of how 21st Century gig work should be regulated. By focusing on the strategies of black and brown cis- and trans- folks in the fight for sex workers' rights, this article examines the regulation of gig work and of “acceptable” work more generally. It explores relationships between work, poverty, and power and suggests how to appropriately engage in movement building to forge a path forward by building coalitions between gig workers of all kinds
