Angstszenario US-Rezession: Was die Wirtschaftskrise in den USA für den Präsidentschaftswahlkampf und für die Welt bedeutet
Von einer Zeit der wirtschaftlichen Unsicherheit sprach US-Präsident George W. Bush in seiner siebten und letzten Rede zur Lage der Nation am 28. Januar 2008 vor dem Kongress. Langfristig könnten die Amerikaner auf ein stabiles Wirtschaftswachstum vertrauen, kurzfristig stünden die USA aber vor nicht zu unterschätzenden Herausforderungen. Damit erkennt auch die Regierung an, dass die vom Immobilienmarkt ausgehende Krise nun auf die Realwirtschaft überzugreifen droht. Ob es tatsächlich zu einer Rezession kommen wird, ist nach wie vor ungewiss. Wirtschaftspolitische Fragen sind jedenfalls zu einem zentralen Thema im amerikanischen Präsidentschaftswahlkampf geworden. Und auch für Europa und den Rest der Welt stellt sich die Frage, wie einer Schwächephase der US-Konjunktur begegnet werden kann
