Annual report 2008 and Environmental statement 2009

During 2008, the EEA continued to deliver important contributions to the European Community's Sixth Environment Action Programme (6th EAP) at the same time as developing further its information systems and networks, providing support to the European institutions including the European Parliament, the European Commission and the Council of Ministers, and helping to underpin a range of initiatives in the wider world. A review of the strategic goals was a priority in 2008 as the 2004–2008 corporate strategy came to an end. New goals for the strategic period 2009–2013 were also finalised.
