Anti-poverty and special employment programmes in India : their role and effectiveness under the structural adjustment programme.

Examines the adequacy of existing programmes to offset the adverse effects of structural adjustment, such as the Integrated Rural Development Scheme and the rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) in Maharashtra, and suggests further policy measures.
