Application of multiple criteria decision models for oilseed crops in Pakistan's Punjab

The promotion of oilseed crops in the specialised and already well-established cropping systems has proved to be a challenge for the decision-makers at policy, research, and extension levels. The differences in the planning objectives of the agricultural research system and development agencies and farmers' real objectives constitute the stumbling blocks to new crops becoming part of the conventional cropping systems. This study attempts to create an analytical framework to resolve these planning issues. The oilseed crops such as sunflower and mustard were used to demonstrate the applicability of this approach.
