ARTICLES - TAXATION, INVESTMENTS AND THE FREE MOVEMENT OF CAPITAL - Charles Proctor examines the EC Treaty rules on capital movements and the approach adopted by the Court of Justice in this area. The importance of the Treaty provisions, which require member states to abolish national restrictions which inhibit the free movement of capital, has been highlighted by the introduction of the euro.
