Assessing the Impact of COVID-19 First Wave on Indian Economy Using Inoperability Input-Output Approach

This study uses the technique of inoperability input-output analysis to estimate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on India. The study estimates that the complete lockdown of transport and hotel sectors to prevent the spread of coronavirus resulted in a loss of 4.2% of the output at basic prices. Sector by sector estimates of total loss, loss to labour and capital income and dispersion of loss between rural and urban areas is also estimated
