Coronavirus has affected every country, every sector and every individual in the world, though the magnitude differs. UNCTAD (2020) rightly points out that it has affected mankind physically, economically and psychologically.The Atmanirbhar Bharath is a refined version of the Gandhi Swadeshi Concept. Atmanirbhar Abhiyaan on the one hand wants to strengthen its domestic industries where it has an advantage and promote them as global brands. On the other hand, India also has to engage with the region and the world, it also welcomes FDI, and being a member of WTO encourages free trade. Hence Atmanirbhar Bharath Abhiyaan cannot be seen in isolation but as a holistic blend that advocates vocal for locals, but also promotes FDI which aims at making in India through domestic and MNCs in India.The important advantages of implanting the ABA are strengthen domestic companies improves infrastructure, imparts skill, utilises demographic dividend, create more employment, eradicates poverty, less dependence on imports, creates foreign exchange, reduces cad, reduces inequality, ease of dignified living, integrated health system The important challenge to ABA is gearing up the economy in the short run, increase the aggregate demand, failure in implementation corruption and redtapsim, imparting the skills, limited resources, limited expertise, balancing domestic industries and globalisation, balance domestic Industries and Globalisation which is easier said than done.
