Business Oriented Enhancement Model for Diabetic Retinopathy Detection
Medical imaging one of the most prominent development which aids in healthcare business. Disease detection, diagnosis and treatments have been drastically altered due to medical imaging. To bring medical imaging to a limelight, medical researches continue to develop novel technologies to bring sustainability in medical businesses. Hence, here an enhancement model is created with orientation of healthcare business which provides assistance in Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) detection. Diabetic Retinopathy detection is not easy due to noise creation in Image Acquisition Setup. In the business oriented enhancement model, the main objective is de-noising followed by enhancement of iris images. The iris images are taken from dataset provided by Indian Diabetic Retinopathy Image Dataset (IDRiD). De-noising is done by Median Filter (MF), Adaptive Weiner Filter (AF) and Bilateral Filter (BF) and results are verified using Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE) which is 64.1397dB & 0.0251 for Median Filter, 48.7306dB & 0.8710 for Adaptive wiener Filter, 54.0489 & 0.2559 for Bilateral Filtered grayscale image and 49.4824 & 0.7326 for Bilateral Filtered color image. The enhancement is done using normalized histogram equalization and contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) which enhances textual pattern of image according to Human Visual System (HVS). The enhancement model, when procured for ophthalmologists and researchers of the related field, can assist the recent technological advancements in the field of healthcare and improve the sustainability of medical businesses. This will surely make medical imaging market attain a high rise
