Capacity

From special issue: "Postposttranssexual: Key Concepts for a Twenty-First-Century Transgender Studies." This essay puts forward "capacity" as a methodological tool for transgender studies by articulating the ways in which previously unacknowledged accounts of gender's multiplicity and mutability can be discerned and cultivated. Objects, images, texts, and discourses may all contain sites of transgender capacity that are the result of complications of binary or dimorphic assumptions and patterns
