Capitalism created the climate crisis and capitalism will solve it : the market forces catalyzing a climate technology renaissance

"While the scientific cause of global warming is well established, exploration of the economic and social causes of the climate crisis has lagged behind. Starting nearly 200 years ago, the advent of the industrial revolution and the subsequent proliferation of both technology and cheap energy allows us to draw a hard line from the rise of capitalism to a warming planet. Modern finance and innovations in transportation and manufacturing, combined with labor productivity gains, ushered in an era of consumerism, which in the context of global warming is best viewed as over-consumerism ... or consumerism untethered to consequence.
