Cautions for Legislation of News Law in China

China's news media are in chaos. Some people suggest to legislate a News Law for a better management of the press by the government, which has been echoed by some leading Chinese media academics. This paper argues it should be cautious for legislating such a law in China and advocates for a stricter self-regulation approach
