Censos, contribuciones y procuraciones / Church levies, contributions, alimonies (DCH)
Spanish Abstract: Censos, contribuciones y procuraciones fueron institutos jurídicos de naturaleza patrimonial con los que el derecho canónico gravó los servicios propios de la Iglesia, a fin de que esta dispusiera de recursos materiales destinados a contribuir al sostenimiento de su actividad cotidiana. El presente artículo aborda el estudio de cada una de estas instituciones y su proyección en el espacio hispanoamericano y filipino entre los siglos XVI y XVIII. Desde diferentes perspectivas y ámbitos normativos, se discute acerca de la semántica histórica de los términos, su regulación, sus procesos de adaptación y reelaboración, funcionalidades, usos, características principales y particularidades que les confirió́ el mundo indiano. Dentro de esta voz se tratan también los principales tributos seculares y las tasas que gravaban a la población indígena. Por último, el texto se acompaña de un breve análisis historiográfico sobre de la reciente literatura publicada sobre la cuestión
